Happy Days Learning Environments
Turtles
In our nursery, individual routines are following and as a result opportunities for small group learning are woven naturally throughout the day. Environments are created where children can safely move about and access material. Beautiful garden spaces support children's curiosity and gross motor development, and are complimented by calming indoor environments .
Seadragons
A burst in language development and curiosity encompasses the Pre-Kinders / 3 Year Old Kinder..
We want to provide opportunities for children to grow and learn at their own pace, to help foster this our Educators develop and implement a program based on each child’s interests as well as what they have observed and/or suggestions from families. The Seadragons will focus on encouraging independence, and the development of language, self-expression and fundamental social skills.
Seals
Little ones thrive in environments that value and support their developing skills. It is imperative that toddlers are not rushed through their day, that we advocate for them so that they have enough time to linger on an interesting thing, that they are provided with the time and space to practice self help skills and that their efforts are recognised and encouraged.
Stingrays
Our 3 Year Old Kindergarten programmes focus on children’s burgeoning language development and increased self help skills. Now that they are able to express and identify ideas and feelings more easily, investigations are personalised and more sustained.
Our educators slow the programme down alongside our children, capitalising on each part of the inquiry process from planning and research to hypothesising and experimenting and on to representing ideas and interpreting information.
Dolphins
The educators of our toddler room set an environment with many natural spaces and open-ended learning for children to be motivated in exploring the natural environment with imagination and creativity. It’s about creating space and opportunities where children thrive, where they can wander, explore and navigate their growing perceptions of the world.
Pelican
In the 4 Year Old Kindergarten programme, language, literacy, numeracy, science and technology concepts and skills are strengthened and enriched by well developed studio skills – manipulating paint, clay, wire, textiles and collage materials.
Words and numbers are everywhere – to be used, read, written, sung, played with and invented. Every investigation, mat time, forum, play-based experience, routine and excursion provides an authentic application of reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, counting and measuring skills.
Outdoor Environments
Our thoughtfully designed outdoor environments encourage children to explore, create, problem-solve and connect with nature. Through active play and open-ended experiences, children develop confidence, resilience, independence, gross motor skills and a lifelong love of learning.
Upper Garden
A Safe and Nurturing Outdoor Space for Our Youngest Learners
Our upstairs garden has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, calm and engaging environment where our youngest children can explore, discover and develop confidence at their own pace. With soft surfaces, age-appropriate climbing and exploration opportunities, sensory experiences and shaded play areas, children are encouraged to investigate the world around them through play.
The space supports early physical development, curiosity and connection with nature while allowing our educators to provide warm, responsive interactions that help children feel secure and supported. Whether crawling through tunnels, exploring natural materials, caring for plants or enjoying quiet moments outdoors, our youngest learners are given endless opportunities to learn, grow and thrive.
Lower Garden (Pre-Kinder & Kindergarten)
Adventure, Exploration and Learning in Nature
Our lower garden provides a vibrant and expansive outdoor learning environment where children are encouraged to challenge themselves, develop independence and connect with the natural world. Designed for our Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten children, the space offers opportunities for active play, imaginative experiences, problem-solving and collaborative learning.
Children can explore natural play areas, engage in gardening and sustainability projects, create with loose parts, participate in group games and enjoy open-ended experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity. The outdoor environment becomes an extension of our learning program, where children investigate, take appropriate risks, build resilience and develop a strong sense of belonging within their community and the environment around them.
Through play, discovery and meaningful interactions, our garden supports children to become confident, capable and engaged learners.
