Enrolment Experience
You’ve received an offer of placement… Welcome!
To confirm your child’s place at Happy Days EL, we require a $300 bond to secure your child’s spot. The bond is refundable when you give us four weeks’ notice that your child is terminating care at Happy Days EL. (The refund can take up to 6 weeks as we require time for CCS to settle accounts).
Orientation Process
Prior to your child commencing care, we will be in touch to organise a couple of orientation sessions. The duration of the first orientation is one hour long. During this first orientation, parents are required to stay with their children. This ensures families are provided the opportunity to get to know the educators, routines, learning environment, and ask any questions they have about their child’s first day.
The duration of our second orientation is four hours long and you won’t be required to stay for this session. This orientation provides a great opportunity for your child to settle into their new learning environment independently and confidently. Throughout their day, we will endeavour to keep you updated during this session regarding your child progress as they start their learning journey with us.
(Orientation sessions are booked as close to your child’s commencement date to allow a smooth transition)
Social Stories at Happy Days
Starting childcare is a big milestone for both children and families. To help make the transition as smooth and positive as possible, we have created room-specific social stories for each learning environment at Happy Days. These stories provide children with a gentle introduction to their new room, educators, routines and learning spaces, helping them build familiarity and confidence before their first day.
We encourage families to read these social stories regularly with their child in the weeks leading up to commencement. Sharing the stories together can support conversations about what to expect, ease separation anxieties and help children feel excited and prepared as they begin their Happy Days journey. Through familiar faces, photos and simple explanations, our social stories help children develop a sense of belonging before they even walk through the door.
The following social stories are for 2026. Check back in December for the 2027 Social Stories.
Two Day Minimum
At Happy Days we have a minimum of two-days per week. We believe that attending Happy Days for two days or more per week helps your child to feel comfortable, build relationships with their educators and peers, so they are able to happily immerse themselves in their learning programs.
OWNA Portal
At Happy Days, we utilise an app called OWNA which allows us to communicate with you through your very own parent/carer profile.
The app allows families to see what your child is getting up to each day, alongside daily information, developmental updates, so that we can work in a collaborative partnership to support your child’s learning journey.
